We're traveling between Charleston, WV and Kitty Hawk, NC. We're staying in Wakefield, VA for two nights and went to the 460 Cafe for breakfast this morning (October 13, 2023). What a delightful surprise to find a circle of eleven very talented Bluegrass musicians sitting in a circle, playing such wonderful, old time music! The breakfast buffet was mostly gone by the time we arrived but Donna, the owner (and only person working this morning) got right to it and made sure we had freshly made eggs, additional sausage and bacon, and lots of hot coffee. The breakfast meats were especially flavorful, as was the sausage gravy, and I wonder if they were locally raised and processed. We really enjoyed them. This locally owned and operated diner is a real gem. I hope they continue to do well. We'll be sure to stop by again!

We couldn't find a lot in the area to eat at and we love little hole in the wall diners so we thought we would give this place a try. The parking lot was full so we thought it had to be good. We got there a little later for breakfast (around 10am) but they still had some available on the bar. They did say they could make fresh breakfast if they ran out but it being so close to lunch I didn't want to ask them to make food just for us. It was about $13 a person for the buffet (that's all they have). The meats on the buffet were really delicious and the tea really ice cold and refreshing. But to our biggest surprise most of the folks who were there were gathered around in a circle playing bluegrass music. It was really a nice treat to sit there for a bit and listen to them. I would recommend stopping by especially if you get there earlier.

Stopped in near the end of breakfast, but Donna stayed open a little later to make sure we were able to grab a bite to eat. The home made food was delicious and everyone was very friendly. Great conversation and felt like family. Will definitely be back!

While staying at Whitetail resort, we wanted to try some "local fare"... This lil hole in the wall has an amazing breakfast buffet and farmers market on the weekend. Amazingly delicious - recommend for a change up. Friendly service, too!
